WELCOME TO THAILAND

Welcome to Thailand

Phuket is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the entire world and for good reason. The first thing you’ll feel when you walk out the airport doors, is the heat. It’s hot. Its like being greeted with a tropical hug.

Once you’ve felt the hug then you are hit by the Buddhist culture, which brings out your inner peace and relaxation.

Everywhere you look, you see smiles and friendly people. Who are so polite; all they want to do is make you happy and help.

This is Thailand..... The land of smiles.

Now you have arrived, this is the time to relax as you travel to your accommodation, which is normally an hours drive in your air conditioned taxi with sites that are hard to believe....

As you drive out of the city you’ll find that you’ll be testing your butt clenching exercise skills (which will help for Olympic lifting) as your driver speeds and weaves in and out off traffic, the disbelief as you see a family of 5 sharing a 125cc moped, carrying shopping and sometimes the family dog... yes that’s right, you heard correct plus they are not wearing helmets just shorts and no top!

You will be surprised by how modern and advanced everything is, yet they still maintain a distinct and unique Thai culture as you pass temples, statues, small businesses and traditional Thai architecture, dripped in gold with a blend of old and new.

Thailand is one of the only countries that has never been invaded or occupied. Because of that, there’s a rich and deep culture that is preserved that needs to be felt to understand.

Culture never felt so good!

As you get closer to your accommodation and to HBFS Fitness Retreats, you’ll weave around the bends of the beautiful lush mountains and massive hills blanketed in thick colourful jungle all around you. Palm trees and fruit trees everywhere.

It’s exciting knowing that in the hills and jungles; hides king cobras, deadly spiders, scorpions, centipedes, wild dogs, monkeys and the odd elephant.

Let’s talk about food!!!

Thailand is world famous for its street food. You can pretty much get anything on a stick, watching it being cooked on a side cart of a moped is pretty epic.

The prices will shock you and so will most things here.

Had a tough training week? Or is it a rest day? then you should visit an elephant sanctuary but be sure it’s legit.

The rescued dog sanctuary “Soi Dog” is also worth visiting and donating to.

Go check out the Big Buddha, James Bond island, Phi Phi Island, diving, snorkeling or chill on one of the beautiful beaches Phuket has to offer.
